Details of National Treasury Learnership Programme 2024, Applications are opened for the National Treasury Learnership programme for the 2024 year.
With learnership programmes provided by the National Treasury Department candidates will have the opportunity to develop their skills, resources, and quality that is required within their field. Each selected individual will be mentored by professionals within all sectors of banking. Selected applicants will have the occasion to see the works of several banking divisions and processes.
This division of Government is held accountable for managing the national government’s funds. They assist in closing the gap of unemployment by offering talented individuals great opportunities. This helps to provide selected individuals with skills, an income, and development to enter the workforce prepared.
With most learnerships it is possible to fast-track your career. Successful candidates will expand on their capability, as well as an understanding of all sections of the financial sector. The National Treasury Learnership Program has limited openings and usually only offer up to ten candidates this unique opportunity. Selected individuals will learn more about the levels of management, how to prepare cost-effective solutions to financial problems, the completion of documentation and required documents for a variety of procedures. Depending on their field of interest, candidates will discover the workings of reporting, updating, planning, loans, finance, accounting services, administration and much more.

National Treasury Learnership: Requirements
The requirements for each learnership will not be the same as it will depend on the field. There are some basic requirements that each of these fields will have in common. Additional requirements will be stipulated on the application or the learnership information sheet provided on the department’s website.
The basic requirements may include the following:
- The applicant must be a South African citizen
- Applicant must have a valid ID document
- The applicant must hold a valid Grade 12 / Matric
- Applicant must be proficient in English

Duration of each learnership will be for a different length as is required per field. Candidates are reminded to ensure they complete the application and attach all documentation before submitting. Late applications, incomplete or applications missing documentation will not be considered.
National Treasury Learnership Programme Closing Date
Closing dates of learnerships provided by this department may differ. This is due to the opportunities only being made available as determined by the need within the department. They do, however, usually open during the first months of the year and close round the middle to end of each year.
Depending on the progress of successful candidates, some may be offered a permanent position upon completion of their learnership term. However, this is not a guarantee of such, as it will depend on the department, the candidate’s progress and openings within.
