Department of Finance Graduate Internship Requirements

The Department of Finance accepts applications yearly for a variety of positions. Candidates will have to meet all stipulations as set out by the department to be eligible for the internship program. Some of these requirements may vary slightly from department to department but here are some of the main requirements. 


Candidates will be required to have the following:

  • Candidates must be a South African citizen between 18 & 35
  • Applicants must not have been part of any other Government internship prior to their application
  • Candidates must hold a valid ID book/card and have a valid Matric certification
  • Applicants must hold a diploma or degree from a recognized institute of higher learning within their field of application
  • Candidates must be computer literate
  • Applicants must be proficient in English (read, write & speak)
  • Candidates must not hold any kind of criminal record

Candidates must please ensure all documentation is certified and copies are attached to their application. Applications must be made with a Z83 application form. This form can be downloaded from the Government website or collected from any Government office. Please ensure the number of the position applying for is clearly stated on the application. If submitting multiple applications for different positions, an application must be done for each post and submitted separately with a complete C.V. and all documentation.
